The Akan Festival 2025 is set to celebrate the rich beauty and heritage of the Akan Kingdom, bringing culture, tradition, and artistry to the forefront. Officially launched on November 27, 2025, in Abidjan‑Cocody‑Angré by festival commissioner Alain Anzara, this year’s edition promises an immersive experience for attendees. Scheduled for December 20 and 21, 2025, at Abatta, Baie des Anges in the Cocody district, the festival will showcase the vibrant customs, music, and crafts that define the Akan legacy.

Under the theme “The Kingdom That Unites”, this second edition aims to become « the largest event dedicated to the celebration of African and Afro‑descendant traditions and cultures », according to the organizers.

Akan Festival 2025 will offer a rich and varied program: an artisan and gastronomic village, exhibition‑sales, cultural animations, live music and traditional dances, fashion shows, and opportunities to discover African crafts and cultural heritage.

Organizers expect more than 5,000 participants, with around one hundred exhibitors, 50 artists, 15 cultural parades, and the participation of representatives from about 20 countries.

According to the general commissioner, the Akan Festival is “an inclusive space that values Africa, its cultures and its traditions”. The event is meant to be a celebration of ancestral heritage, but also a symbol of pride, unity and cultural transmission.
